4 Spiritual Lies

Four Spiritual Lies

We previously discovered that the enemy of God, Lucifer, no longer has legal “standing” in the Courts of Heaven.
{The Accuser Has Lost Judicial Standing}

Remember — Lucifer’s goal is to interfere with our Kingdom influence because it will accelerate his ultimate condemnation. Believe it or not, every Christian has a vital purpose in the Lord’s strategic plans. He is eager to see His Kingdom grow and His influence reach into new territories. Lucifer is determined to stop those plans, but it’s a lost cause. The death and resurrection of Jesus makes it inevitable. So, the enemy has two remaining strategies to derail us: he can tempt us to sin and he can accuse us in our conscience. To accomplish the latter, he tells us four lies, likely in the order shown below. If one lie doesn’t work, he’ll move to the next one. They include:

1st lie – You have no worth, no spiritual calling, and you have no talents.  God has no use for you and never did.

2nd lie – You may have some worth, but it’s only theoretical and will only be understood once you get to heaven.  After all — look at your upbringing, your family and where you come from.  You’ll never accomplish anything in your life of true value to God.

3rd lie – Maybe God originally saw some value in you, but given your past and present sins, it’s no longer true.  He has no further use for you, so just give up trying to discover His original purpose in designing you.

4th lie – Since people are noticing that you have some talent, and you might have some spiritual calling, just push your way in and save the situation. If you see a problem, go fix it! Don’t wait for anyone to ask for your help, and certainly don’t wait for a so-called prophetic “release.” Don’t be inhibited by those ancient stories from the early church that would label your efforts as “iniquity.” Can’t we all agree that God appreciates people with initiative? Doesn’t the Bible say: “A man’s gifts make room for him”?

———————————————————————

These lies also apply to non-believers.  The enemy attempts to rob these people of their identity by leveling one accusation after another.  Even when there is some truth to the diabolical messages, we can remind the non-believer of Christ’s substitutionary death on the cross.  He offers forgiveness, once and for all, to those willing to receive it.

Just reading those four spiritual lies is enough to make us weep. We certainly know people who have fallen for one or more of them. The enemy has distracted thousands of Christians from their life calling because they believed a lie.

Jesus told us quite simply to “Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness” and all these other concerns (earthly cares) will be handled. That is a very reasonable alternative to trusting one of those four spiritual lies.
